According to the "Golden Snow Globe" website, with 79.9 inches of snow so far, Baltimore is currently the snowiest city in the U.S. this winter.

And we could be looking at a few more inches Monday or Tuesday -- we might just get rained on, or we might get 6 inches of snow.

Like Brave New World, it's a didactic look at the possibilities of human societies -- don't look for deeply drawn characters or for intricate plots, it's all about the setting. Island was popular with the 1960s psychedelic movement, and if Leary and company had paid better attention to it, things might have gone much better.
