Reasons why i don't believe ron paul wrote the newsletters...
I'll just mention a few things here, since i suppose i can be called a ron paul supporter (although i'm not sure i'd want him as president)
The remarks that were written were incredibly vile, racial remarks, written as flamebait.
Take a look at what was written, and how ron paul talks, and you'll see they are completely different writing styles.
Paul speaks/writes in a formal tone, and even in his most condemning speeches, he doesn't resort to cheap insults to prove points or ire emotions.
The articles written, were written in such a way as to provoke an explosively charged emotion, aka: flamebait.
I really have seen no evidence that paul shares any of those feelings about racism.
To further nitpick, i've seen a copy of the artical, and it wasn't signed by ron paul, it wasn't signed by anyone. It was simply in a newsletter bearing his name. I find it odd that Paul didn't sign such a copy, as with the writing style.
I'm left to conclude by my own research that the articles were not written by paul. It just isn't like him to write in such a fashion.
Its ultimately up to the voter to decide who you'll believe, but i'd aruge that you should do your own research onto the matter, or give paul the benefit of the doubt, he deserves as much.
A public newsletter, from 15 years ago, which is the only place hes voiced such racism, which cannot be verified as to who wrote it.
I've also heard from someone who claimed to be in the industry that it wasn't that uncommon for senators to outsource political newsletters in their name... but thats hearsay

So Paul's not competent to run a 'zine?
If Paul didn't write the articles, he's still responsible for their publication - he should have been vetting anything that appeared in his newsletter, or if something slipped past, published a strongly worded retraction. He did neither. Either he wrote those articles, or he didn't object to them, or he isn't even competent to run a 'zine, much less a nation. In any of those alternatives, he's not fit for public office of any sort.

and furthermore...
If Paul didn't write the articles, how is it that his initial reaction when they came up in 1996 was to claim he was quoted out of context? Now he claims he didn't write them at all - he was either lying then, or lying now.
